Liam Neeson has made another action thriller! It’s titled In the Land of Saints and Sinners and he plays a hitman in the movie. A new trailer has been released for the movie, and it’s pretty wild that Neeson is still making these kinds of films! It makes me wonder what his career would’ve been like had he not starred in Taken, because that was the film that led him down this action movie rabbit hole that he hasn’t gotten out of since.
Regardless, this movie looks really good! A lot better than many of the other action movies Neeson has made over the years.
The film is set in Ireland in the 1970s. “Eager to leave his dark past behind, Finbar Murphy leads a quiet life in the remote coastal town of Glencolmcille, far from the political violence that grips the rest of the country. When a menacing crew of terrorists arrive [to town], led by a ruthless woman named Doirean, Finbar soon discovers that one of them has been abusing a local young girl. Drawn into an increasingly vicious game of cat and mouse, Finbar must choose between exposing his secret identity or defending his friends and neighbours.”
In the Land of Saints and Sinners is directed by Robert Lorenz (Trouble with the Curve and The Marksman) and it also stars Kerry Condon, Jack Gleeson, Colm Meaney, Ciarán Hinds, and Sarah Greene.
In the Land of Saints and Sinners will be released in select US theaters starting March 29th, 2024.
