The ongoing modern C-drama Best Choice Ever released episode 13 on April 14, 2024. It features prominent actors Yang Mi and Xu Kai in the main roles. The episode primarily focuses on Yao Zhi Ming (Xu Kai) telling Cheng Huan (Yang Mi) about his past. Cheng Huan comes to visit Zhi Ming at the hospital. She tells him how many people called to inquire about his condition. Zhi Ming does not believe her.
Cheng Huan gets curious and asks about his other family members. Zhi Ming tells her that his father abandoned his mother and ended up going to prison. His mother lost her life after getting into an accident. He tells her that he only has his grandmother as his well-wisher.
While driving back from the hospital, Zhi Ming apologizes to Cheng Huan about the bidding ceremony. The apology catches her off-guard. Grandma Mai, on the other hand, is happy to see them getting along.
Cheng Huan bumps into Zhu Bao Qiao at work. Cheng Huan introduces herself as the new property manager. Bao Qiao is surprised to see that Cheng Huan has been demoted from her previous position.
Cheng Huan receives praise from her co-workers. Meanwhile, Mr. Xin, Jia Liang’s father, visits the building and meets up with Bao Qiao, his mistress. Cheng Huan accidentally sees them sharing intimate moments and gets flustered.

Meanwhile, Zhi Ming also catches Mr. Xin dragging Bao Qiao out of the building. Bao Qiao invites Cheng Huan to her room for a meal. Cheng Huan asks her if she intends for her to see Mr. Xin and Bao Qiao together. Bao Qiao reveals that she has been in a relationship since she graduated from college. But Mr. Xin has been delaying the marriage.
Bao Qiao reminds her that they were good friends in college. Cheng Huan tells her that instead of taking shortcuts, one should focus on working hard. Qiao Bao questions her relationship with Jia Liang. She urges her not to expose her relationship to the Xin family. Cheng Huan leaves the room angrily.
Meanwhile, an anonymous tenant sends a debit card to Cheng Huan. She successfully guesses who it is and calls Mr. Xin. He asks her to accept it as a gift and forget about the incident. Before Cheng Huan can say anything, he hangs up.
In episode 13 of Best Choice Ever, Cheng Huan and her brother receive calls and have to rush home. It turns out that a pipeline has busted, leaving their apartment flooded. Cheng Huan takes her parents to a hotel for the night. She cleans the whole apartment with the help of her brother. They reminisce about their younger days.
The next day at work, Zhi Ming hears about the situation and offers to accommodate the Mai family in his hotel. But Cheng Huan refuses as they can’t afford it. Zhi Ming then sends some engineers who can renovate the place at a low price. Meanwhile, Cheng Huan’s brother endures a hard time at work as his superiors continue to pressure him. He decides to quit.
