Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert shattered hearts this past weekend when the singer confirmed their rumored separation.
Shumpert has yet to publicly speak on the split. But Taylor said they remain friends, business partners, and “one hell of a team” in co-parenting. She delivered the confirmation and clapback at infidelity claims via Instagram on Sunday (Sept. 17).

“AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 1000% clear, “infidelity” ain’t one of the reasons for our departure. We are still the best of friends, great business partners, and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly, we are FAMILY & in the 10 yrs together, 7 yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT.”
Teyana’s message comes after an alleged artist on Iman’s label posted videos wearing a chain similar to his last week. She, @ay_mamiii_, later clarified that the chain was hers and said the post doesn’t give “weird.”
Meanwhile, Shumpert seemingly remained silent on both accounts — his alleged artist and his estranged wife.
At this time, it’s unclear if the couple plans to file for divorce. Teyana Taylor did say that the former couple decided to keep their split quiet for privacy.
“We just keep y’all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise. The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all. Okay AunTey taking y’all back out the chat bye!”
As of Monday, the post has over one million likes and more than 23,000 comments. Reactions poured in from both fans and peer celebrities.
Keke Palmer, who recently experience public friction with her son’s father Darisu Daulton, offered Taylor some support. She wrote, “With grace and class, God bless you and your beautiful family.”
Supacent wrote, “We love y’all and we hope y’all find y’all way back.”
G Herbo took a more humorous tone, writing, “Man wtf y’all got going on,” with three laughing emojis.
On Monday afternoon, Taylor also shared a photo of herself sitting at a table, fresh-faced and rocking a smize. Over on Iman’s Instagram Story, he’s shared a variety of posts in the last 22 hours, speaking on positivity, success, and taking risks. None seemed directly correlated with Teyana’s separation reveal.
As previously reported, the estranged pair share two daughters, Junie, 7, and Rue Rose, 3. It’s unclear if the family is living in the same home at this time.
