Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador speaks out for the first time following her arrest for DUI and hit-and-run last month.
On Tuesday, Shannon Beador broke her silence following her DUI incident on September 16, 2023. The 59-year-old posted a video on Instagram where she told fans that she can’t speak about her legal woes at the moment but promises to be “open” and “honest” about her DUI when she can talk about them publicly.
Shannon said:
“I know it’s been a while since I posted, and there’s been a lot of talk about everything that’s happened recently, but unfortunately, right now, I’m not in the position to comment, but there will be a time when I can, and I intend to be open, honest, and authentic. Right now, I’m focusing on getting healthy and getting back to myself and walking. Archie.”
Meanwhile, Vicki Gunvalson recently shared her thoughts on Shannon Beador’s arrest for DUI.
On Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap podcast, Vicki revealed she’s been in contact with Shannon “every day” since her arrest.
“She’s one incredible woman,” Vicki said. “Shannon doesn’t drink and drive. She’s an Uber girl. She spends a ton of money a month.”
The OG of the OC went on to explain how Shannon wound up in this “unfortunate situation.”
“She had been out with some friends, and she might have had one too many and then went to go to try to find her phone. She thought she left it at the restaurant, so she got in her car because she couldn’t call an Uber to find her phone because she didn’t have her phone,” Vicki explained, adding that Shannon made a “quick, wrong” decision.
As for those who are blaming Shannon’s on-again, off-again ex-boyfriend John Janssen for her DUI, Vicki said she doesn’t “point fingers at anyone but Shannon.”
As AllAboutTRH previously reported, Shannon was arrested for DUI and a hit-and-run on Saturday, September 16, in Newport Beach, California, after she drove her car into a residential property and “clipped the house.”
Per TMZ, Shannon entered into an outpatient treatment program on Monday, October 9. The behavioral wellness program that the RHOC star has enrolled in features an alcohol component.
The Real Housewives of Orange County will return for season 18 in 2024.
