EXCLUSIVE: Adivi Sesh‘s action pic G2 is shaping up, and now it’s found its female lead.
Banita Sandhu has been cast to play opposite Sesh in the spy thriller form the makers of Major, Kashmir Files and Kartikeya 2.
Sandhu has been making her name in Bollywood through features such as October and Sardar Uddham, and is known for working in Hindi, English and Punjabi.
“This is my first pan-India film and I’m so excited to collaborate with such an incredible, visionary team,” said Sandhu. “It is a role unlike anything I’ve ever done before and I can’t wait for audiences to see me in a completely fresh avatar. Working on this movie will be a creative delight for me”
Sesh added: “I warmly welcome Banita to the G2 world. I look forward to an amazing collaboration.”
The Telugu-language film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal. People Media Factory, Abhishek Agarwal Arts, and AK Entertainments are producing with Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi making his directorial debut.
We first reported on the sequel in January, when the producers said it would cater to a more pan-Indian audience than Goodachari, which was a major hit in the south of country. The 2018 film followed Seth as a field agent who is accused of killing two officials and forced to clear his name.
Plot details for G2 haven’t been released yet but it will be more international in its scope with shooting taking place in India, the UAE and Europe.
