According to his lawsuit, the incident occurred on January 2022 at a Dunkin’ location in Winter Park, Florida. After entering the men’s room, he was met with an alleged explosion from a toilet, resulting in a shower of human waste, urine, and debris. The force of the explosion left him injured and filthy, prompting him to seek immediate assistance from the store’s staff and manager as reported by ABC News.
Kerouac’s lawsuit alleges that Dunkin’ was negligent in maintaining the restroom facilities, leading to this unfortunate and unhygienic incident. The claim suggests that the company had prior knowledge of issues with the toilet, as alluded to by an employee who acknowledged the existence of a “problem” without elaborating further.
