Truist Bank announces it “intends” to foreclose on Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s Georgia mansion despite their ongoing bitter divorce.
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann‘s once magical life is crumbling around them. Page Six reports that Truist Bank is looking to foreclosure on the former Real Housewives of Atlanta couple’s Georgia mansion. The bank maintains that they have every “right” to do so despite the former reality stars’ on going divorce.
Truist Bank filed court documents citing that Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have “defaulted on their mortgage” and because of that the court must deny the former NFL star’s petition for a restraining order against the foreclosure.
Back in October, the estranged Bravo couple requested that a judge put a stop to the foreclosure proceedings against their home. Truist Bank claims they “voluntarily” agreed to the request, giving the couple until January to sell their property.
This was the second time Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s home faced foreclosure.
The former couple put their Alpharetta, Georgia mansion on the market for $6 million in October as it was scheduled to go up for auction due to failed payment on November 7, 2023.
Then in December, Kim and Kroy slashed the property’s sale price to $5,500,000 in hopes of offloading the property ASAP.
The former RHOA stars purchased the mansion in 2012 for $880,000 after tying the knot in November 2011.
The two-story, seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom brick and stone property built in 2008 features:
“A heated pool, five fireplaces, a six-car garage, a full back in-law suite, a separate au pair suite, a circular driveway, a chef’s kitchen and oversized island, a full-size bar and wine cellar, multiple walk-in closets, an elevator, a finished basement, an in-ground trampoline, a billiard room, an arcade room, a movie theater and a gym with a private massage room.”
In the last year, the former RHOA couple’s growing financial issues have become public knowledge amid their marital issues.
The 37-year-old NFL star filed for divorce from Kim in May, claiming that the RHOA OG’s gambling addiction “financially devastated” their family.
According to Kroy, Kim’s gambling has played a huge role in their family’s financial issues. Over the summer, Kroy told police that Kim lost $700k gambling in the last two years alone.
“The total in the marriage was about $1.5 million dollars. She does it online illegally,” Kroy claimed to police recently.
Earlier this year, Kim and Kroy were hit with a $1.1 million tax lien as well as various other lawsuits over unpaid credit cards and outstanding gambling debts.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is expected to return for season 16 in 2024.
