Bow Wow has teased his return to music, and it looks like Chris Brown will be involved.

Speaking to fans on Instagram Live over the weekend, the rapper and singer revealed that he’s plotting a musical comeback and has a collaboration with his close friend Breezy on the way.

“Shoutout to my brother CB. I love you, brother. Thank you for the shoutout. I’m not going to make the announcement today, but me and CB got some shit. And that’s all I’m gonna say.”

He added: “I just want to bless y’all with what I’ve been working on for so long, for the past year and a half. Music is on the way. More music is on the way. More music…

“You see how I didn’t say no movies, right? Music. I’m back on my shit. And I’m telling y’all now, if you ever counted me out, I feel bad for you.”

Bow Wow’s last album, New Jack City II, arrived in 2009, although he released a series of mixtapes in subsequent years, with the most recent being 2019’s Greenlight 6.

This wouldn’t be the first time he’s collaborated with Chris Brown as the pair have teamed up on songs like “Shortie Like Mine,” “Ain’t Thinkin’ ‘Bout You” and the remix to Breezy’s breakout hit “Run It!”

In other news, Bow Wow recently credited with T.I. having a major influence on his music career, despite his previous mentor-apprentice relationship with Jermaine Dupri.

In an interview with The Art of Dialogue, the Like Mike star asked about his relationship with Tip and responded by looking back on the creation of his third album, 2003’s Unleashed.

That record was, as Bow Wow explained, “the first album I did without Jermaine at all, completely.”

He said that at the suggestion of his then-A&R person, legendary executive Kawan “KP” Prather, T.I. was brought in to work on the project. But he ended up playing a much bigger role.

“This is before the King album, this is before A.T.L., this is young Tip,” Bow Wow remembered. “Me and Tip wrote that third album together with my man R.O.C..”

Bow Wow pointed to the lead single “Let’s Get Down” as an example, saying that he, T.I. and R.O.C. each wrote one verse. But T.I.’s influence went beyond just penning rhymes.

“Me and Tip really kicked it,” Bow Wow continued. “We had moments, especially in the studio: him giving me that freedom, him teaching me how to write — cadence, bars, song structure, just everything.

“He was giving me the answers that I wanted Jermaine to give me. He was definitely a hundred in the studio. Tip was, that’s my dog. Even to this day, that’s my big bro right there.”
