Katie Maloney addressed her relationship with Stassi Schroeder amid reports that they’re no longer friends, and she also discussed the future of Vanderpump Rules.
Katie and Stassi were once strong allies on the show, though Stassi was fired in 2020. A recent source claimed Stassi is now more loyal to Lala Kent – with whom Katie is feuding with.
“[Lala]’s got two kids now,” said Katie on the Off the Vine podcast, shared by @breakingtherulespod on Instagram. “While I wish we spent, like, more time together … [having friends with kids] is totally different.”
Despite this, Katie said she and Stassi are still on good terms.
“Maybe once life bounces on a little bit, we can spend some time together,” she added. “I just think we [have] very different things going on. But I’m really happy when I do get to see her.”
Earlier this week, Stassi also addressed her friendship with Katie, shutting down claims of a rift while admitting that “friendships ebb & flow.”
Stassi wrote: “I’m not on vanderpump rules. I’m not on any team. That’s not my life anymore. I have individual friendships with people. Friendships ebb & flow without it being nefarious.”
Meanwhile, Katie also addressed the future of Vanderpump Rules amid the recent hiatus. The show will not be filming this summer amid reports that the cast is not cohesive. The theory is that a temporary hiatus will give stars time to cool off from the Scandoval drama.
“We don’t really know what the future of Vanderpump is going to be,” said Katie. “This group is, like, really fractured.”
“Sometimes you’re like, ‘I just need to take a breath,’” she went on. “I don’t know. We don’t usually find out about another season until the rest of the world does … I don’t know what the plans are gonna be for everybody. We’ll find out.”
