In a sneak peek of episode 9 of RHONJ season 14, Joe Gorga gets emotional over the longstanding rift between his family and his sister Teresa Giudice‘s family.
As RHONJ fans know, the Gorgas and the Giudices have had a rocky relationship for over a decade, but their relationship soured once and for all at the season 13 reunion last year.
In the preview, fans see Joe Gorga officiating the wedding of Melissa Gorga‘s cousin, Nick Marco, and his now-husband, Mike Masco.
“Good evening, everyone. My name is Joe Gorga, and today, it’s Father Joe,” the 49-year-old says, addressing wedding guests. He then recalls meeting Nick for the first time and the evolution of their relationship.
“When I met you, I looked at you, and I was like, ‘Wow, look at this good-looking guy.’ And I said, ‘How are the ladies? You must be knocking ‘em dead,’ not knowing that I was keeping this burden on you. One day, you came out to me. I looked at you. I hugged you. And I loved you more than ever.”
This emotional moment caused Joe to reflect on the fact that he will never attend the weddings of his four nieces and that his sister will not attend the weddings of any of his children.
“It was just a beautiful moment … It makes me think of my sister, and I say, ‘Wow, she won’t be at my kids’ weddings. My nieces will be getting married, and I’m not gonna be there,” Joe shared in his confessional.
He then expressed gratitude for Melissa’s family, who welcomed him with open arms when he joined the family and continued to love and champion him throughout the years.
“We cheer each other on, and we love each other. And I’m part of that,” the RHONJ husband said.
