A class-action lawsuit has been filed against YouTube personality MrBeast and Amazon, alleging “chronic mistreatment” and sexual harassment of contestants on the reality competition show Beast Games.

The lawsuit, filed on September 16 in Los Angeles Superior Court, represents five unnamed participants from the show. The show is produced by Prime Video and features over 1,000 competitors seeking the $5 million prize, as reported by Variety. The complaint lists multiple causes of action, including failure to pay wages and overtime, neglect of contestant welfare, and failure to prevent sexual harassment. According to the suit, participants were allegedly subjected to emotional distress, dangerous conditions, and mistreatment, including deprivation of medical care, food, sleep, and basic hygiene.
The lawsuit is seeking class-action status for all affected contestants. It demands unpaid wages, expenses, and punitive damages from Amazon and MrBeast’s production company. Attorneys for the contestants argue that while the participants were aware of the competition’s challenges, they did not expect the extreme conditions they faced, with several ending up hospitalized.

Female contestants reported experiencing a hostile work environment. The lawsuit highlighted redacted sexual harassment claims, including inappropriate instructions from a Beast Games employee handbook that reportedly encouraged specific male behavior during filming.
One of the plaintiffs, identified as “Contestant 5,” expressed disappointment, stating she had joined the competition as a fan of MrBeast but was treated with a lack of respect. A release date for the show has not yet been announced, but Amazon promoted it as the “world’s largest live gameshow” with the biggest prize in television and streaming history.
