Lil Scrappy is officially a father of five after welcoming his son on Nov. 23. The child’s mother, Shakira, shared the life update and first photos of their baby boy a few days later on the 30th. On Monday (Dec. 2), Scrappy spoke out about his baby boy’s birth for the first time and revealed his name is Kyrie Richardson.

Scrappy celebrated his son’s arrival on Instagram, sharing their first selfie. He also included photos that appeared to have been taken the same day as the ones Mama Shakira posted. According to his caption, Scrap feels blessed by his Kyrie chapter!
“So yes God blessed me yet again 8 days with another son. Grateful to have a new baby boy to join my family. No matter what the negatives say you still going to get this daddy love and support. You and ya moms shoutout to my lil guy. #KyrieRichardson aka YoungMerlo.”
More Details On Birth Of Lil Scrappy’s Son
Shakira didn’t include Scrappy in the first-look photos of their son. Instead, the flicks featured her dressed in light blue pajamas holding her newborn, who was wrapped in a blanket of the same color. He also had a matching hat and a head full of dark hair. In her caption, she revealed that Kyrie was seven pounds and 2.5 ounces at birth. Shakira shared that he arrived at 7:39 in the morning after laboring for six minutes.
Meanwhile, the mothers of Scrappy’s first four children, Erica Dixon and Bambi, have not reacted online to the birth of his son. However, after Scrappy’s baby shower footage went viral, Bam shared pre-order links to her children’s book about explaining a new baby to existing children.
As for Erica, the most she has said about Scrappy’s fatherhood involves their co-parenting relationship now that their eldest, Emani, is in college. The rapper shared that things are now “cool” and not as “stressful” as they used to be. Their current vibes remind him of when they “first got around each other,” he said.
“I love him,” Erica Dixon shared. “Just wanna see him reach his highest potential. I feel there’s so much in store, and I just wanna see him shoot through the stars.”
