According to TMZ, Alabama Barker, the 19-year-old daughter of Travis Barker and his ex-wife Shanna Moakler, was taken to the hospital recently after quitting vaping cold turkey about a month ago, which led to some kind of anxiety attack later revealed as nicotine withdrawal.

The outlet reports that sources familiar with the family told them that Alabama Barker could be caught “occasionally vaping,” up until she began pursuing her music career and taking things more seriously this year.
Sources told TMZ that Alabama Barker, an ambitious rapper, was advised by others in the music industry that if she wanted to pursue a successful career she needed to ditch the disgusting habit and take better care of her vocal cords and body.

Subsequently, the 19-year-old aspiring rapper is said to have decided to quit vaping cold turkey about a month ago, which led to her feeling panicked, anxious, and unwell one day while left alone. Fearing for her health and well-being, sources told TMZ that Barker called 9-1-1 herself and was taken to a local hospital to get checked out.
While there, Alabama Barker was told by medical officials that she was experiencing nicotine withdrawal after quitting vaping cold turkey, instead of safely weening herself off the vape pens she was said to be “occasionally” using.

At the hospital, Alabama Barker was reportedly told by medical professionals that if you quit vaping cold turkey, the body can easily experience nicotine withdrawal. Fortunately, Barker was checked out by doctors and feeling okay. In fact, she was well enough to enjoy her birthday, which fell on Christmas Eve.
As we previously shared, Alabama Barker has been pursuing a rap career. In May 2023, she responded to harsh criticism and backlash after dropping a rap video. In a since-deleted TikTok video, Alabama Baker said she was tired of people saying she knew nothing about rap music or wasn’t raised around the genre. The then-17-year-old then shared images where she met Hip-Hop artists like Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne. She also shared a photo of when she met Rihanna on the set of her music video for one of her hit songs, “Umbrella.”
Shanna Moakler, Alabama Barker’s mother even took up defense of her child after serious backlash of her pursuing a rap career. In August 2023, Moakler told Page Six, “I think her rap career is amazing. My kids were raised on a tour bus from the time they were born. Every creed, every race is going to love hip-hop and rap that’s not gonna change. So for me, it is a very natural progression for [Alabama], because she’s been in the studio with her father with the greatest musicians in the world.”
