Olivia Flowers took to her Instagram page on Wednesday with a series of photos of herself and her loved ones, including her former fiancé, Alex Williams, as she spoke of calling off their wedding.
Nearly two months after announcing she would no longer be getting married, the 33-year-old Southern Charm alum shared a slideshow of photos as she seemingly confirmed that she and Alex were still together, reflected on having to return her bridal registry gifts, and revealed what she did on the day she was supposed to get married.
“Well November wasn’t the month I pictured… but it was still a special one thanks to these beautiful people,” Olivia wrote on December 3.
She then shared a “few takeaways,” including, “Your support system is everything,” “You can take a beat for yourself,” “You can call off a wedding without calling off a relationship,” and “Returning Registry gifts builds character.”
Along with her message, Olivia shared a photo of herself in a high-rise building and one of Alex driving a boat.
In another set of images, Olivia was seen walking with Alex, whose hand was resting on the back of her neck, and wearing an animal costume on what would have been her wedding day.
“Not exactly the look I was going for on my wedding day but we out here,” she wrote in a text to her mom.
As Southern Charm fans will recall, Olivia announced she had called off her wedding via a statement from her Cabine Creative rep in October.
“After much thought and many heartfelt conversations, Olivia and her fiancé Alex have made the difficult decision not to move forward with their wedding. This was not a decision made lightly, but one grounded in deep mutual respect and love for one another,” the statement said. “While this isn’t the path they originally envisioned, they are profoundly grateful for the love and support of their friends and family. Alex and Olivia remain committed to each other with a renewed sense of clarity, strength and appreciation for honoring one’s heart.”
“She is very appreciative of your grace and kindness as they move through this transition together,” it added.
