Dolores Catania reacted to the rumor that Real Housewives of New Jersey is considering a total cast reboot – as she addressed test filming for newbies. Plus, Jennifer Aydin hinted at her recent convo with Teresa Giudice about the fate of RHONJ.
A few weeks back, an insider claimed that Bravo was preparing to test film with potential newbies for season 15. Reality Blurb also reported that only Dolores, Teresa and Melissa Gorga will potentially return. In the past, Andy Cohen himself has suggested that the network may completely reboot the cast with new faces (as they did for Real Housewives of New York).
“You did test film with some potential housewives, yes?” Aydin asked Dolores on her TV Gold podcast.
“Test filming is not – I go, ‘You’re so far from being on camera,’” said Dolores cryptically, seemingly addressing the potential newbies who test filmed.
Aydin added, “But even Teresa [told] me, ‘Jen … they [are telling] us nothing,’” said Aydin. “So who knows if they’re going to keep some [castmates] and then add new [ones], or reboot totally.”
Dolores then addressed the potential reboot.
“It didn’t work for New York,” said Dolores.
On February 19, a source told Radar Online that several costars are still being considered for the new season.
“While Jennifer Aydin and Rachel Fuda aren’t in the running, the rest of the cast is,” said the source. “It’s possible they could bring some of them back or all of them back to see how they interact with the potential newbies. … [Producers will] get these new people in front of a camera to see how they perform.”
“[But] don’t forget they did test filming last year, and it went nowhere,” the insider added. “It all depends on the chemistry of the women once they’re in front of cameras and if they see a viable show that could be made from their interactions. If they don’t, it may be back to the drawing board. … [However] this could be a positive sign, because if they like what they see, the show will likely start filming sooner rather than later and finally be back on fans’ screens.”
