Offset is back in the news for allegedly owing someone some money. According to TMZ, music producer Chase Dalton Rose, aka ChaseTheMoney, filed a federal lawsuit against the Migos alum. Chase alleges Offset used his song on his album without working out a deal and agreeing to terms for payment and rights.

In the court documents, Chase said Offset used his song “Worth It” on his second solo album, ’Set It Off.’ The producer admitted to working on the song with the rapper, and preparing the track to allow him to record his lyrics over it.

However, the producer said they never brokered a deal on paper. Chase said there was no agreement on compensation and transfer of rights. So now, the producer wants a full accounting and a court order forcing Offset to hand over money owed from the song he produced.

Before Chase’s current federal lawsuit against Offset, TMZ reports the rapper first sued the producer in federal court back in March 2025. At the time, the rapper sought a declaration from the court claiming the rapper fulfilled his deal with the producer.

The rapper and his team said they asked the producer to work on his album in early 2023. They agreed they worked on a song called “Worth It.” Offset’s team said they worked out a deal to pay Chase $20,000, plus a 4% royalty — which would all be divided equally between the producer and his co-producer.

Offset then dropped ‘Set It Off’ in October 2023. Three months after the album dropped, Chase’s manager contacted the rapper and his team. The manager demanded new terms for the already agreed-upon deal. Offset said Chase and his manager were asking for five times the original amount.

In Offset’s lawsuit, he asked the court to officially declare that the original deal was valid, enforceable, and that he didn’t owe anymore than already agreed upon.

Since Offset’s suit in March 2025, he and his team are firing back at Chase’s latest claims. The rapper’s team calls them “meritless” and calls the case a “money grab.”

“These claims are completely meritless and nothing more than a money grab. A deal was negotiated with Mr. Rose and his management, and he agreed to compensation and credit for his contribution. After the record was released, and with new management in place, he refused to honor that agreement and has attempted to renegotiate for fees well beyond industry standards under the threat of litigation.”
