George Clooney recently spoke about his Lake Como estate, which has appeared in Devil Wears Prada 2. Directed by David Frankel, the comedy-drama centers on the reunion of Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs at Runway, as the former heads toward retirement. They soon come across Miranda’s former assistant-turned-rival, Emily Charlton, as they try to maintain their footing in an ever-evolving industry.
George Clooney addresses his Italian vacation home’s cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2
George Clooney‘s Italian vacation home, Villa Oleandra, made a cameo in The Devil Wears Prada 2, and he was completely unaware of it. During his attendance at the 51st annual Chaplin Award Gala at Lincoln Center in New York City, he addressed his estate’s appearance, which appears in the background of a shot of Andy and Emily speedboating across the popular Italian lake in the trailer. “Is it really? Oh man, I’ve made it,” Clooney said to Access Hollywood.
Revealing what the estate means to him, he elaborated, “The house holds a special place in my heart, because I love going there.” Clooney mentioned that his villa’s cameo is even better as he shares a very good connection with Emily Blunt and the whole cast. He questioned whether the movie had come out yet before speculating that it would be a big hit.
Blunt tied the knot to John Krasinski at Clooney’s villa in Lake Como in 2010. During a conversation at UK radio station Magic 105.4, Blunt described the property while reflecting on how generous Clooney was to let them use it for their big day.
“Is it a ranch? Would you call it a ranch? At his place. His lake, it was lovely, so beautiful. He was very nice to give it to us; it was very kind,” she said. Blunt also joked that Clooney wasn’t invited to their wedding. “George, we would love to get married at your place, but can you leave? That would be great,” she said sarcastically.
