Garcelle Beauvais shared more insight into her decision to leave Real Housewives of Beverly Hills – and revealed if she’s thought about “walking back through the door.”
On her last reunion, Garcelle left the set before her costars took the cast picture. This was seen as a sign of her intention to exit the show. Before the taping, she apparently planned to meet up with her then-friend Sutton Stracke. But after the reunion, Garcelle and Sutton stopped speaking. As for Sutton, she said she still doesn’t know the exact reason Garcelle ended their friendship.
On Let’s Talk Off Camera, host Kelly Ripa asked Garcelle about her exit.
“Can you take me back as you’re walking out the door. Are you making the decision to never return?” asked Kelly, via @bravotalktoomuch on Instagram. “Andy says the door is always open. Do you ever think about walking back through the door?”
“I haven’t thought about walking back through the door just yet,” Garcelle answered. “I felt good about walking out the door, and I did not honestly think that [it was over at the time].”
But Garcelle clarified that she had been feeling like she wanted to leave.
“And I think that was the icing on the cake, when I looked around [at the reunion], when I looked at the couches, the chairs where we were sitting, I didn’t have a friend,” said Garcelle. “I didn’t have an ally. … It just didn’t feel good anymore. It didn’t feel good anymore. It didn’t feel fun anymore.”
Last month, Sutton addressed the “death” of her and Garcelle’s friendship.
“It’s difficult. I struggle with it still. You know, it’s just so sad. It’s like a death,” Sutton explained on Scheananigans. “Then the fans are like, stop talking about. Well, stop asking questions.”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” she added. “It was a big loss. I lost a friend. So, you know, the flippant questions and the people making fun of it and chastising me for what I did wrong, you need to remember that I lost a friend.”
According to Sutton, she’s “sorry” she didn’t get the chance to “work things out.”
“That was the hardest part,” the star continued. “…It’s really a breakup and, you know, I did love Garcelle. … It’s [like] when the boyfriend just drops you, and you just have to live with it.”
