According to Variety, FX Networks will not be renewing its Lil Dicky-centered sitcom Dave for a fourth season after series creator and titular star Dave Burd decided to shift his focus to other things in the meantime.

Despite Dave going on an indefinite hiatus, FX Networks confirmed that they will continue to support Burd in his future projects as part of their overall production deal. This comes after nearly a year since the third season concluded its 10-episode run.

“After some back and forth, there are no current plans for a fourth season of Dave right now, as Dave Burd has decided to take an extended break to focus on music and other ventures,” FX said in a statement. “That does not rule out the possibility of doing something in the future. We love the show and sincerely appreciate the creative excellence Dave, Jeff Schaffer, the cast and crew delivered with every episode. We are excited that our partnership with Dave will continue as he develops future projects for us through his overall production deal with FXP.”

Who’s involved in Dave?

Dave hails from creators and executive producers Burd and Jeff Schaffer. The series also stars Taylor Misiak, GaTa, Andrew Santino, Travis Bennett, Christine Ko, Gina Hecht, David Paymer, Benny Blanco and more. It is executive produced by Saladin K. Patterson, Ben Sinclair, Luvh Rakhe, Kevin Hart, and Hartbeat Productions, Scooter Braun, Greg Mottola, Marty Bowen, Mike Hertz, and SB Projects’ James Shin and Scott Manson.

Based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd (stage name Lil Dicky), the sitcom centers around a neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. In Season 3, the titular rapper embarked on his first-ever American tour. It also featured lots of A-list guest stars, including Rachel McAdams, Usher, Demi Lovato, Travis Barker, Jack Harlow, Brad Pitt, Drake, Megan Fox and more.
