At the end of March, Konami released Speed Duel GX: Midterm Destruction. This is a new box of four preconstructed decks for Yu-Gi-Oh! Speed Duel based on characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. The idea is that you and three friends can purchase a box and immediately play a small house tournament and it’s not a bad one. The four decks are: Neo-Space with Jaden, Arcana Force with Sartorius, Dinosaurs with Hassleberry, and Fossil with Jim Crocodile Cook. There are a couple of neat cards throughout the set like Pot of Avarice, Dandylion, and Paleozoic Canadia and as always you can use Speed Duel cards in the TCG which is appreciated.
In addition to the four decks, duelists get four Secret Rare upgrades from 20 possible in the set and a 2-player game mat. I think these boxes can be a great bit of weekend fun with friends. That said, it’s really best if you and your friends actually like the characters featured. Which of these decks would you pilot in your home tournament?
