Beckham Family Rift Tied To Victoria’s Failed Promise

An insider has revealed that the ongoing rift between Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz began after the former allegedly refused to make her daughter-in-law’s wedding dress.

The new revelation adds to that from another insider who previously claimed that the women’s feud dated back to Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola’s first wedding dance, which Victoria allegedly hijacked.

As more revelations emerge, the fallout from the tensions between Victoria and Nicola continues to tear their families apart.

The long-standing rumors that Victoria, 51, and her daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz, 30, clashed over Nicola’s wedding dress appear to hold some truth, according to a Peltz family insider.

“When Nicola and Brooklyn [Beckham] got engaged, Victoria told Nicola that she’d love to make her wedding dress, and Nicola said it would be her honor, that she would love to wear one of her originals,” the source told PEOPLE Magazine, adding that it was initially viewed as a heartfelt gesture.

But according to the insider, things changed: “It became clear that it wasn’t a priority for Victoria,” and instead of telling Nicola directly, “Victoria called Peltz’s mother — not Nicola herself — to tell her she wouldn’t be making the dress after all.”

The fallout was immediate. “Nicola was painted as a brat for not wearing Victoria Beckham at the wedding,” the source said. “She’d gone to a ton of Victoria Beckham fashion shows and events in Victoria’s clothing. She even wore Victoria Beckham to her “Lola” movie premiere.”

Despite the wedding drama, Victoria attended Nicola’s directorial debut, “Lola,” in February 2024.

Nicola had famously worn a yellow silk ruffled dress from Victoria’s 2020 collection for her engagement photos, and both women posed together on the red carpet for the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

Still, another insider insists the narrative surrounding the wedding dress is skewed.

“A quick Google search will show how many times this pointless story has been recycled to try and paint Nicola as somehow a victim,” the second source shared.

They added, “As ever, the Beckhams have stayed above it all despite constant attacks through the media. It’s sad as they love their son and they have all tried so hard with Nicola but it’s become impossible.”

According to another Peltz family insider, tensions escalated dramatically at the wedding. Just days after Brooklyn posted a cryptic Instagram message saying he’d “always choose” Nicola, the source claimed that drama exploded during the couple’s 2022 Palm Beach ceremony.

“Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding,” the insider explained. “Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up … Victoria Beckham!’”

The new bride allegedly “felt that Victoria ruined her wedding, and couldn’t understand why.”

A second source said the room fell into stunned silence: “It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock — you could hear a pin drop.”

Making matters worse, guests reportedly watched as Victoria slow-danced with her son. “It wasn’t appropriate,” the source said, claiming that Nicola then ran from the room in tears.

“Nicola felt like Victoria did this on purpose, when she knew it was a pre-planned romantic dance meant for Brooklyn and Nicola. What she couldn’t understand was why.”

Not everyone agrees with the wedding night narrative. One guest at the event revealed that the first dances happened as expected.

They shared, “Nicola and Brooklyn had their formal first dance early in the evening and she also had the traditional first dance with her father.”

At the time, Daily Mail reported their first dance was to “Only Fools Rush In,” and the second to “Stand By Me.”

The guest added, “Later on, when everyone was casual, Marc Anthony performed and got people dancing. Brooklyn and Victoria danced, David and Harper danced, and everyone had a great time.”

Still, another insider acknowledged ongoing friction. “They’ve tried to make peace, but every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again,” the source said. “Brooklyn feels torn. It’s his family and blood, but he’s always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like ‘business.’”

The family rift has reportedly grown even deeper. According to the Daily Mail, Brooklyn’s parents now refer to him as “the hostage,” believing he’s being controlled in his marriage to Nicola.

“Brooklyn is now being referred to as ‘the hostage.’ He is in a situation where those who love Brooklyn fear that he is being controlled by Nicola, and it is heartbreaking,” an insider claimed.

The concern intensified after Brooklyn shared a video of himself riding a motorbike with Nicola, a move that felt out of character.

“Videos like this are just not what he does. He will be dying inside,” the source said. “He’s soppy and he’s a romantic, but that video just isn’t him. He hates all of that stuff, so you have to wonder if Nicola was behind it.”

Making matters worse, Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration, further deepening the strain.
