Marcus Jordan’s DUI Trial Will Not Happen In June As Scheduled

Marcus Jordan has gotten his wish for more time before his DUI trial commences.

The former college basketball player’s motion to postpone his court date for driving under the influence until September fell through.

Marcus Jordan was arrested earlier in the year after he confessed to consuming illegal substances before getting behind the wheel, leading to a minor accident.

Jordan’s DUI case will not proceed to trial as scheduled initially later this month. Now, the date has been postponed by several months at his request. 

According to court documents, Jordan and his attorneys filed a motion to reschedule the trial from its initial June 23 start date to allow more time for plea negotiations with prosecutors.

The prosecution did not object to this request, and a judge subsequently set a new trial date for early September. Currently, Jordan is facing three charges: DUI, resisting an officer without violence, and possession of ketamine.

He was taken into police custody on February 4 when authorities found his Lamborghini SUV stuck on train tracks in Florida. After the incident, TMZ shared that he admitted to having substance abuse problems and sought professional help.

In mid-May, the athlete announced that he had achieved 40 days of sobriety. The former college basketball player shared his progress on Instagram, indicating his determination to maintain this new path. He showcased his focus on wellness by sharing a picture from his workout session.

This focus on wellness comes after he acknowledged in court documents that he was dealing with challenges related to alcohol and substance use. He expressed a willingness to take active steps to address these issues and re-emerge as a better person.

Most importantly, Jordan might have learned a profound lesson during his arrest, as despite him reportedly claiming to be the son of NBA legend Michael Jordan during the stop, it did not impact the police’s actions.

The 34-year-old’s love life garnered substantial social media attention in 2023 when he began dating Larsa Pippen. Things were especially controversial, especially given their connections to prominent NBA figures Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan.

However, Marca noted that their dramatic breakup in 2024 kept the tabloids busy for nearly two years. Now, a year and a half post-split, Pippen has begun to find her footing.

In a candid conversation on the “Housewives Nightcap” podcast, she reflected on the pain associated with their breakup, particularly how it affected her children.

The reality star shared the internal struggle she faced, questioning her decision to introduce Jordan to her family, only for things to fall apart. “It’s really tough when you bring someone into your home, around your kids, and then you break up,” she said.

Adding complexity to her situation, Jordan is set to appear in season seven of “The Real Housewives of Miami,” which has left the 50-year-old feeling anxious.

The RHOM trailer also hinted at a more troubling aspect of their relationship’s end, as Pippen revealed to co-star Alexia Nepola that the college sports star sent her threatening text messages during their final days together.

Before things went to dust between them, The Blast reported that the duo were loud and proud about their affection for each other. 

During an appearance on Andy Cohen’s show, the now-estranged couple opened up about their relationship, crediting their shared interests and friendship for the ease of their romance. 

The conversation took a steamy turn when Cohen referenced Pippen’s earlier confessions from the 2023 “Real Housewives of Miami” reunion, where she revealed that she often had sex “four times a night,” even during her previous marriage. 

When the topic came back to her, Pippen confirmed, “That’s facts,” and added that she now enjoys having sex “probably five times a night” with Jordan.

Jordan humorously responded, acknowledging his competitive nature and stating that their intimate encounters are “way more than three times.”

Nearly a year ago, Jordan provided a brief update on his relationship with Pippen, stating that while they are “not together [right now],” they remain on good terms.

Despite Jordan’s claims, things are reportedly deeper with their split. Following their second breakup last March, insiders indicate that the two have avoided communicating altogether.

The sources also suggested that their tumultuous romance ultimately led them to decide that it was best to part ways. Both Jordan and Pippen were reportedly concentrating on their individual pursuits and have maintained their distance from each other since the split.

Last year, speculation about his love life arose when a video surfaced of him talking with Gabrielle Wright at a fashion show in Paris, leading some to believe he might be moving on from Pippen.

However, Jordan clarified his relationship status by proclaiming himself “Single AF,” effectively shutting down rumors of a romance with Wright and confirming that he is not official with anyone.
